         Health Update:

As the Covid-19 virus becomes endemic, Covid-19 is still infecting people, but there is a much lower incidence of serious illness and death caused by infection.  We psychologists will wear masks as-needed to protect ourselves and our patients. Patients are advised to do the same.    However, please always wear a face mask over the mouth and nose, or attend an appointment remotely, if you have any symptoms of illness.  Masks are available, either in the lobby or in your therapist's office, at all times.

Dr. Hulbert's pager to be discontinued:

Dr. Hulbert has maintained a pager for urgent communication needs for decades.  The technology is old, and most do not use it or even know how to use it.  He will discontinue the use of the pager in mid December, 2024.  For urgent communications, text him at 248-885-6060.

         Fee Increase

Scheerbert Psychological has not increased fees in many years.  Our practice has recently been awarded a “value-based uplift” in reimbursements from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, for its commercial insurance plans.  In order to receive this uplift, we must bill at a level that will cover these amounts.  After looking at the BCBS fee schedule, it became clear that our fees are well-below market-level.  Therefore, as of April 1, 2024, rates for all services provided will increase.  This fee increase will have different effects depending on your insurance plan:

     -If you have a deductible with your visit, you will pay more until the deductible is met;

     -If you have co-insurance with your visit (a percentage of the fee), your co-insurance amount will increase;

     -If you have a copay with your visit, what you pay may not change at all.

The new fee structure is as follows:

     -90791 (new patient evaluation): $241;

     -90832 (half-hour session): $104.25;

     -90834 (45-minute session): $137.75;

     -90837 (hour session): $202.75);

     -90846 (family session without patient present): $164.00;

     -90847 (family session with patient present): $137.50.

 IF any patient experiences hardship due to the fee increase, please request a discussion with your therapist to discuss possible solutions.
